About
Conference on Digital Science in ...
is an international initiative launched by Professors Mike Friedrichsen and Christoph Meinel of the German University of Digital Science, featuring half-yearly hybrid conferences on digital transformation across sectors like culture, public administration, media, communication, and education. The series began with the 1st International Conference on Digital Science in Culture in November 2024, followed by events such as the 2nd on Public Administration (May 2025), 3rd on Media and Communication (2025). The 4th Conference on Education took place in May 2026. Themes adapt yearly to emerging fields, aligning with German UDS's focus on digital science research centers. Each conference explores digital tools, AI, cybersecurity, ethics, and societal impacts, with keynotes, papers, panels, and Springer-Nature proceedings for accepted submissions.
The 5th International Conference on Digital Science in the Transformation of Bureaucracy (November 12–13, 2026) brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to examine how digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and emerging organisational models are reshaping the institutions that govern, regulate, and deliver public services, while fostering critical dialogue on accountability, equity, and innovation in administration.
